UP govt encourages youngsters to join MSMEs & Industries, to train over 50,000 youth

The youth will be imparted apprenticeship training in government, non-government, cooperative, corporation, MSMEs and private industries under this scheme.

New Delhi: In a bid to increase employment opportunities for youth in Uttar Pradesh, along with developing their skills, the state government is also working to fulfill their dreams by providing them jobs in the state itself.

The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government will provide training to youths under the Chief Minister Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme. The youth will be imparted apprenticeship training in government, non-government, cooperative, corporation, MSMEs and private industries under this scheme.

To promote skill development in youth in order to make them self-reliant, as many as 50,000 youths will be trained under the various schemes run by the Department of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In addition, 35 thousand youth in the Industrial Development Department will be given apprenticeship training. Along with industrial development and MSME, apprenticeship training will also be imparted to 37,000 youth in 18 more departments of the state. The guidelines in this regard have been issued by the Chief Secretary to all the departments.

Youths to get Rs 2,500 as training allowance

Under the apprenticeship scheme, a training allowance of Rs 2500 will be given every month to the youth undergoing training. In this, Rs 1500 per month will be given by the central government and Rs 1000 by the state government.

To push the skilled youth on the path of employment, the work of fulfilling government’s vision of creating youth hubs in every district of the state is also being done under this scheme.

Training to 37,000 youth in 18 departments

Along with industrial development and MSME, 37 thousand youth will be given skill training in 18 more departments of the state. The training will be given to 5,000 youth in the Health and Family Welfare Department, 1,000 in the Urban Development Department, 5,000 in the Irrigation Department, 2,000 in the Secondary and Higher Education Department, 400 in the Rural Engineering Department, 100 in the Tourism Department, 1,000 in the Medical Education Department, 600 in Vocational and Skill Department, 1,000 in Technical Education, 4,000 in Public Works, 8,000 in Department of Additional sources of Energy, 800 in Transport Department, 8,000 in Agriculture, Sugarcane, Horticulture and Food Processing and Cooperation Department, 8,000 in Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, 5,000 in Housing and Urban Planning Department, 160 in UP Housing Development Council, 80 in UP Project Corporation and 4,200 in Panchayati Raj Department.
