UP Govt on way to develop places associated with great men into tourist hubs

The State Government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is working on developing places associated with great men from within the state into tourist hubs.

New Delhi: Continuing with its mission to establish Uttar Pradesh on the global map of tourism, the State Government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is working on developing places associated with great men from within the state into tourist hubs.

The State Government has already completed first phase of work at Maharishi Valmiki Ashram at Lalapur in Chitrakoot at the cost of Rs 187.15 lakh and proposes to complete second phase in a year at the cost of Rs 184.95 lakh. Furthermore, construction of ropeway on PPP (public, private partnership) model is proposed in the third phase.

Similarly, the Yogi Government has undertaken tourism development initiative at the birthplace of Sant Ravidas in Varanasi. The Government proposes to invest Rs 1514.02 lakhs in the first phase of construction of a number of facilities at the site, which is currently underway. The Government will build Santravidas Museum in the second phase of construction.

The site associated with Nishadraj Guha at Shringeshwarpur in Prayagraj is also being developed as an additional attraction for tourists. A 51 feet bronze statue of Lord Shri Ram and Nishadraj will be installed at the site to attract tourists. Lord Ram’s meeting with Nishadraj has special significance in the Ramayana.

Furthermore, the State Government is developing the Maharaja Bijli Pasi Fort site in Lucknow in order to tourists in large numbers. The Government has plans to start a light and sound show at the fort. Furthermore, the Yogi Government is set to build a grand memorial in the memory of Maharaja Suheldev in Bahraich. The Government is building statues of great men to remind people of their contribution to the state and the country at large.

It is worth mentioning here that the Yogi Government is leaving no stone unturmed to develop places of historical and cultural significance in Uttar Pradesh as attractive tourist destinations. Be it religious and cultural tourism, or eco tourism, the Government’s attempt is to tap the state’s immense potential in these areas.

The objective behind these initiatives of the Government is to attract more and more tourists to the state and contribute to its economic development on the one hand and creating cultural and religious awareness among the youth on the other. It will lead to growth in hospitality and tourism related business and employment as well as development of the entire area with building of state-of-the-art infrastructure, parks, ropeways and advanced facilities for tourists’ convenience and comfort.
