New Delhi: Amidst the coronavirus scare, Uttar Pradesh panchayat elections are being held in four phases – April 15, April 19, April 26 and April 29. Polling will be held from 7 am to 6 pm. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
More than 3.33 lakh candidates in the fray in over 2.21 lakh seats in the first phase for the posts. There are 18 constituencies that are going to polls in Phase-I.

The main parties in the race are BJP, Samajwadi Party, BSP, Congress, AIMIM, Aam Aadmi Party, and Azad Samaj Party. The AIMIM will be contesting in the election with Bhartiya Samaj Party for the UP Panchayat Chunav.
