UP Poll Survey: 43.1% want BJP, SP lags behind with 29.6%; Yogi Adityanath is 1st choice for CM

New Delhi: With Uttar Pradesh going to the hustings early next year, here is a poll survey by a private TV channel, capturing the mood of the electorate.

The poll survey finds that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the most favoured party and incumbent CM Yogi Adityanath as most preferred choice for the chief minister post.

Political rivals like Akhilesh-led SP comes second but with a huge margin difference. About 29.6% people voiced their support for Samajwadi Party while Mayawati-led BSP poses no challenge.

According to TimesNow, BSP is likely to garner 10.1% votes, Congress may bag 8.1%.

The most populous state is set to go to polls in February-March 2022 to elect new 403-member assembly. The term of the current assembly elected in 2017 will expire on March 14, 2022.

Yogi Adityanath is the most preferred choice for CM

Yogi Adityanath remains the most preferred choice for Chief Minister. Yogi’s handling of Corona pandemic has already earned huge applause, not just domestically but also internationally.

When asked about Yogi’s performance as CM, 21.7% respondents said they were satisfied with governance, 23.4% called it good while 39.5% were dissatisfied with it.

When they were asked ‘ Who is the most preferable candidate to be the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh?’

42.2 per cent respondents want to see Yogi as CM while 32.2% want SP chief Akhilesh Yadav as the CM while 17% people wanted Mayawati to return to the helm.
