New Delhi: Through the implementation of measures such as the intensive ‘Trace, Test & Treat’, prevention through vaccination and partial corona curfews to decimate the pandemic, as many as 34 districts in Uttar Pradesh have been able to bring down the fresh and active covid-19 cases to zero.

The drop in fresh and active cases in Ballia, Aligarh, Amroha, Ayodhya, Baghpat, Balrampur, Banda, Basti, Bahraich, Bhadohi, Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Etah, Fatehpur, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hardoi, Hathras, Kasganj, Kushinagar, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Moradabad, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh, Rampur, Saharanpur, Sant Kabirnagar, Shamli, Shravasti, Siddharth Nagar and Sonbhadra indicate complete elimination of the fatal virus from nearly 45 percent of the state.

With this encouraging sign, the Recovery Rate in the state has also climbed up to 98.7 percent.

Signalling control on the spread of the virus, out of the 2,33,241 samples tested in the span of the last 24 hours, Uttar Pradesh limited the number of fresh infections to 21. In the same period, another 28 patients recovered from the infection.

The fresh infections have also been reduced by over 38,000 from its peak which was 38,055 capped on April 24. Where major other states have been witnessing a greater surge of fresh Covid-19 infections (daily cases ranging from 22,000-2,000), Uttar Pradesh has restricted the daily-case count below 50 for nearly 33 consecutive days.

The Yogi-led state, despite being most populous has also been registering a steady decline in the number of active covid-19 cases in comparison to several other sparsely populated states such as Delhi, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The active covid caseload in Uttar Pradesh stands at 177.

True to the spirit of ‘trace, test, and treat’ policy, daily sample testing has ranged between 3 lakh to 2 lakh in Uttar Pradesh. Despite aggressive tracing and testing, Uttar Pradesh’s positivity rate (TPR) — which shows the level of infections among people — stands at even lower than 0.01 percent.

Prevention through Aggressive Vaccination

Even with the largest population density, Uttar Pradesh has left all other states far behind in terms of Covid Vaccination. The most populous state has so far given the ‘Shots of Life’ to more than 8,69,09,751 people.
