New Delhi: Entertaining matrimonial ads in the Indian newspapers are often credited for their unintentional comedy. The humor is often a result of limited space, poor grammar and most commonly the irrational demands especially for the bride.
In a recent incident, a man seeking a bride through a matrimonial ad on site called Betterhalf.ai, listed out weird requirements he’ll be needing in his wife. Taking a step ahead of traditional ‘slim, fair and tall’, the man is seeking for a bride whose height falls in the category of “5’2 – 5’6”, waist measurement should be in size 12-16 and bra size between 32b to 32c. The man even mentioned required feet size that must be 6-7.
Further comes a list of some more requirements, some of them contradictory to one another. The list specified that the lucky to-be-bride should be:
# anywhere between 18 to 26-years-old
# should love dogs and have no children
# should be conservative but also liberal
# fun but down to earth
# ‘be into wearing costumes in bed’

After creating a buzz on Reddit last week, the matrimonial ad surfaced on social media. Reactions ranged from disbelief to outreageous.
“This guy is a ladies tailor or what?” asked one person in the comments section. While another remarked, “This reads like a parody. Wants a woman with conservative values but at the same time be liberal?”
One Reddit user suggested, “Just give him a barbie doll set already”.
