New Delhi: Sapna Gill, a social media influencer was arrested last night by Mumbai police after the selfie controversy with cricketer Prithvi Shaw at a Mumbai hotel turned into a violent brawl. Prithvi Shaw was reportedly roughed up by Sapna Gill & her friends, first at hotel premises & then chased & attacked on the streets, after the cricketer left the five-star hotel in Santa Cruz area.

Who is Sapna Gill?
Sapna Gill is the person spotted in viral video featuring the 23-year-old cricketer. As the reports suggest, she & her friends assaulted the cricketer’s car with a baseball bat and also used cuss words during the altercation.

How Shaw’s outing turned into nightmare?
The cricketer along with his friend Ashish had gone to a five-star hotel in Mumbai’s Santa Cruz area for some outing. While the two were seated, some fans came & got selfie clicked with the cricketer.
After sometime, they again approached Prithvi for selfie with some other people, which was denied by the cricketer. Sapna Gill & her friend Shobhit Thakur felt offended over the act and kept on persuading him for a selfie. This resulted into chaotic scenes at hotel. Shaw’s friend complained to hotel manager and the social media influencer & her friends were asked to leave the hotel premises.
After police lodged complaint of assault, Sapna Gill has been arrested by police. However, her lawyer is claiming that it was cricketer’s misbehavior that led to uncomfortable situation. He claims that it was cricketer who attacked them with baseball bat.
