New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said in a tweet that winning and loosing are part of life.

His tweet comes after Indian men’s hockey team suffered a defeat at the hands of Belgium in the first semi-final of the ongoing Tokyo Olympics here at Oi Hockey Stadium North Pitch on Tuesday.

PM Modi Tweeted, “Wins & losses are a part of life. Our Men’s Hockey Team at Tokyo 2020 gave their best & that is what counts. Wishing the Team the very best for the next match & their future endeavours. India is proud of our players.”

PM Modi also to Indian Hockey team Captain after the semi-final match. He appreciated their good performance throughout the tournament & wished them luck for the next game.

On the other hand, India will lock horns in the bronze medal match on Thursday with the loser of the game Australia and Germany. The Indian boys started well and looked to keep up the good work, but lost the tempo slightly in the last quarter and that is where the boys from Belgium capitalised.

In fact, the last goal was a case of the Belgium players taking advantage as India withdrew goalie Sreejesh and brought in a field player. Loick Luypaert gave Belgium an early lead in the match as he registered a goal in the starting minutes of the first quarter and as a result, India was put on the back foot straight away.
