Kanta Prasad’s suicide attempt: YouTuber Gaurav Wasan, who popularized ‘Baba ka Dhaba’ said this after ‘re-union’

‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ was one of the most followed rags-to-riches stories of 2020. Baba Ka Dhaba’s sudden popularity during the lockdown in 2020 was mainly credited to a blogger named Gaurav Wasan.

New Delhi: YouTuber Gauav Wasan who popularized the ‘Baba ka Dhaba’ and was solely the reason for road-side eatery transforming into a restaurant recently paid a visit to the old couple – Kamta Prasad and his wife Badami Devi. This time again, he won people’s hearts as he hugged the dhaba owners despite being accused of cheating by the old couple.

Earlier this week, a video of Kamta Prasad went viral, in which he apologized to YouTuber and also said that he had never claimed the young YouTuber was a ‘chor’ (thief).

Following the apology, Wasan shared an image with Prasad and his wife stating, “all’s well that ends well”.

Rags to richest story of 2020

‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ was one of the most followed rags-to-riches stories of 2020. Baba Ka Dhaba’s sudden popularity during the lockdown in 2020 was mainly credited to a blogger named Gaurav Wasan. His one video on YouTube went viral and prompted people to visit his eatery.

Following superb business and people’s contribution, the old couple opened a restaurant but that didn’t run well and recently had to close down the restaurant. Kamta Prasad and his wife Badami Devi have returned to their old place of business. The eatery had to be closed three months after its opening in December last year.

Baba ka Dhaba owner’s suicide bid

Kanta Prasad (80), who runs the famous Baba Ka Dhaba in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area, tried to commit suicide on Thursday night after consuming sleeping pills. He was taken to Safdarjung hospital where he has been admitted in ICU, police said.

The cops added that they received a PCR call that a man, who attempted suicide, has arrived at the hospital. Police rushed to the spot and found that he is Kanta Prasad. His wife informed the police that he had been depressed for the last few days.

Prasad had shot to fame after a video of him tearfully recounting the desperation of the months since the lockdown was shared widely across social media platforms recently.
