New Delhi: Zomato, the leading food delivery platform, on Monday sought to re-write the business of providing food at doorsteps by announcing 10-minute Instant delivery service but within hours, the company has come under severe scrutiny and is receiving flak from users.
Many activists, citizens & ever users of the online delivery platform have taken objection to Zomato’s 10-minute plan and are lashing out at the stupid & foolish marketing strategy.

Most of the users have raised concerns about road safety, company’s own employees & the chaos at the red light that will occur, if Zomato proceeds with this business idea.
Suhel Seth, a leading voice of the country termed Zomato’s plan a stupid marketing idea which will jeopardize the lives of its own people who will be out for delivery. He also came down heavily on the ‘advisors & masterminds’ of this marketing idea.
Other users too raised an alarm over the menace that it will create on the streets as Zomato employees will be bound to violate traffic rules & indulge in reckless driving.
In its broad roadmap for Instant service, Zomato invoked the idea of ‘cloud kitchen’ for swift service to its clients but people have found reasons to puncture its claims.
“Which fresh & delicious food can be prepared, packed & delivered from any kitchen,” a user asked. It’s not even possible in own kitchen.
The 10-minute delivery offer from @zomato is both dangerous and unnecessary: more than anything, it will endanger the lives of both riders as also people on roads and so something best avoided. No one is in such a rush or such an idiot to decide what to eat only 10 mins before!

This is absurd! It’s going to put undue pressure on the delivery personnel, who are not employees & who have no benefits or security, who have no bargaining power with @zomato I have raised this in Parliament & have written to the Govt. Will pursue this further. https://t.co/fH8yflloiY pic.twitter.com/PfQIe2nfR4

Zomato’s 10-min delivery smells wrong at many levels.
* Which fresh and delicious food can be cooked, packed and delivered in 10 minutes? Hard, even from your own kitchen.
* Such absurd promises put delivery agents at grave risk, as well as other road users.
Strange desperation.— Abhijit Majumder (@abhijitmajumder) March 22, 2022

The extent to which zomato has gamified the delivery boys work is insane, their ratings and delivery time puts them in tiers like blue, bronze, diamond etc, and what tier you’re in determines your payout, whether or not u get medical insurance, “booking”, “locking”
