Amul India celebrates Droupadi Murmu’s presidentship with a topical; inscribes ‘MurMuther India’

On Saturday, the dairy brand Amul just like celebrating every moment celebrated Murmu’s presidentship with a topical.

New Delhi: Droupadi Murmu is elected as the 15th President of India. She is considered to be the first tribal and the second woman to hold the top position in the country. Besides, she is the youngest president to become India’s head of state, at 64 years. She will take the oath on Monday, July 25.

On Saturday, the dairy brand Amul just like celebrating every moment celebrated Murmu’s presidentship with a topical. The quirky doddle showed Murmu standing outside Rashtrapati Bhavan. The words, “MurMuther India!” are inscribed on it.

Soon after the post was shared, it garnered over 4,000 likes on Instagram. Several users flooded the comment section with their thoughts. One of the users wrote, “These cartoons are the best!” while another wrote, “Simply too good. Simple and effective. Just like the co-operative juggernaut that is Amul.”

Droupadi Murmu started her political career in 1997 when she was elected as the councillor of the Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat in Odisha. Following this, she served several roles in the Odisha government from 2000 to 2009. Besides, between 2015 to 2021, she became the first governor of Jharkhand.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah talked about the significance of having a tribal president. He stated, “For the first time after Independence, a woman from a tribal community – that too among the most backward of tribes, Santhal – became the country’s first citizen. It is a very big victory for the country’s democracy.”
