Bengaluru records lowest temperature than many hilly stations in summer; check how people react

It is reported that the city last registered the coldest day in the same month on May 14, 1974, at 19.5 degrees Celsius.

New Delhi: People living in Northern states in India are witnessing temperatures ranging from 40-46 degrees Celsius. However, you would be surprised to know that residents of Bengaluru are enjoying their second coldest day in May in the last 50 years. This also invited a lot of people on social media to share their experiences.

According to the Indian meteorological department (IMD), the city recorded the maximum temperature at 23 degrees Celsius on May 13 while the lowest temperature is said to be colder than many hill stations such as Mussoorie, Shimla, and more.

As per the Met department of Bengaluru, the minimum temperature may settle up to 20 degrees Celsius over the next few days.

It is reported that the city last registered the coldest day in the same month on May 14, 1974, at 19.5 degrees Celsius.

The reason behind this phenomenon is said to be the remnants of Cyclone Asani. The cyclone invited low clouds, rainfall, and cold winds, dropping the temperature of the Silicon Valley of India.

As per the details provided by the met department, more rain is expected with a little shower in the night and evening, till 4-5 days. The same weather condition is unlikely to change over the next two or three days.

On Twitter, many people shared screenshots showing temperature levels in Bengaluru.

A user on Twitter namely Rudra Shankar Roy wrote, ”It is recorded the coldest day in the month of May….we always enjoy working throughout the year and as well in summers in our Bangalore.”

One user on Twitter said “So BLR is cooler than Shimla and Mussorie!?
