Shashi Tharoor replies to Chetan Bhagat’s ‘Two kinds of English’ tweet, Netizens came up with witty responses too

The popular author chose the format of his tweet from that of stand-up comedian Veer Das’s controversial monologue at a US event

New Delhi: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor and author Chetan Bhagat once again engaged in an amusing conversation on the microblogging site Twitter on Sunday.

The witty exchange of words began when Bhagat took to his Twitter handle and shared a pic of himself along with the senior Congress leader from a recent media event with the caption, “India has two kinds of English. 1) The Shashi Tharoor English. 2) The Chetan Bhagat English“.

The popular author chose the format of his tweet from that of stand-up comedian Veer Das’s controversial monologue at a US event.

Responding to Bhagat’s teasing tweet, Tharoor wrote, “My dear @chetan_bhagat, it was a pleasure catching up with you at the #ABPIdeasOfIndiaSummit. (Now how would you say that in Chetan Bhagat English?)”.

“His message is clear and I hope his fans in the government act on it”, he added.

An elated Bhagat had tweeted that he was ‘floating’ as ‘The Shashi Tharoor’ had praised him.
