Toxic workplace? Here are few signs that you can check about your office

Here are a few signs that your workplace has turned toxic.

New Delhi: You may successfully survive Monday blues; meet the deadlines, and challenging week, work tirelessly without appreciation or handle inappropriate comments or touches. But, there is one thing which is very common at almost every workplace these days i.e toxic colleagues, biased bosses who are always busy in gas lighting, micro-aggression and man planning and doing nothing.

Have you ever thought about how it feels when you are talking to someone and the person next to you keeps an eye on you and listens to your conversation?

Well, that’s toxic and also signs of insecurity.

Here are a few signs that your workplace has turned toxic:

1 Poor Communication: Good communication leads to a good and healthy team with great performance and output is high. Unfortunately, in recent years, we have seen an end to this concept. Most of the time we have seen a team being scattered and we fall prey to the blame game. Naturally insufficient, confusing information can mislead everyone if not conveyed properly, clearly and professionally.

2. A toxic workplace may have Cliques, Exclusion, and gossipy behaviour: Don’t get surprised if you are not present in the office and get some amazing news about yourself. That means rumours about oneself. Because that’s what negative and toxic people do and if by chance you get some good friends in the workplace people will try to separate you.

3. A toxic workplace has a bad leader: There is an old saying “you don’t leave a job, you leave a bad boss”. A bad leader or manager is a result of a lazy team, unhealthy workplace, negative vibes, bad mood, and depression. So, it’s not about the organization that you are working in, it’s more about under whom you are working.

4. A toxic workplace has unmotivated coworkers: In a toxic workplace employees are busy finding mistakes of others instead of uplifting, motivating, guiding and pushing towards learning and achieving goals. The problem is such managers, bosses not ready to take responsibilities on their shoulders and is always there to de-motivate you.

5. A toxic place has triggers: If you find yourself stuck in a Melo-drama or situation which could be ignored then trust me don’t get surprised. Some people have the tendency to irritate and boil the blood of another person.
