New Delhi: Microsoft’s Internet Explorer is all set to retire from its 27 years of service and Twitter has understandably become quite nostalgic about it. Almost none of the internet users have used Internet Explorer anytime late for browsing mainly because of its extremely slow pace. However, most of our earliest memories of the internet are associated with it, when Internet Explorer was the only option available to us.
Internet Explorer or IE will go out of support on June 15, 2022, for certain versions of Windows 10. Besides, last year Microsoft pointed out that the new Edge browser that is, the successor of IE has the compatibility mode for legacy websites and apps that will need the Internet Explorer core functionality to work.
With the announcement, Twitteratis are flooding their feed with memes and nostalgic posts about the retirement of IE. Take a look at some of the best ones:

Internet Explorer debuted in August 1995 and was considered to be the most popular search engine by 1996 as it was Javascript-enabled and allowed users to view JPEGs and GIFs. Microsoft has converted its successor, Edge to Chromium, which inhibits the same foundation as the Google Chrome web browser.
“Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure, and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications. Microsoft Edge has Internet Explorer mode (“IE mode”) built in, so you can access those legacy Internet Explorer-based websites and applications straight from Microsoft Edge,” said Sean Lyndersay, Partner Group Program Manager, Microsoft Edge at Microsoft.
