Ukraine-Russia Crisis: Art of Living reaches out to help over 1,200 Indian students evacuate to safety

Art of Living is operating refugee centers in Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and even Germany

New Delhi: As the conflict between Ukraine and Russia rages on, the Art of Living organization has extended their helping hand to the Indian students and other refugees to evacuate to safety.

The volunteers of the global humanitarian organization have already helped out over 1200 stranded Indian students, along with 420 refugees in Poland.

The organization has also reached out to the Indians and other refugees who are crossing the Ukrainian borders into Poland, Romania, and various European countries with basic amenities such as food, water, and shelter.

Shelters with mattresses and blankets have been arranged in the Taraska center for the refugees, with nearly 50 volunteers stationed on the Poland borders.

In line with the Indian government’s Operation Ganga to evacuate Indian nations from the war-torn country, the organization said that it has helped nearly 1,200 students to evacuate to safety.

Not just that, Art of Living is operating refugee centers in Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and even Germany.

Apart from that, a 24-hour hotline is being kept operational for emergencies in Poland.

An Indian student who crossed over to Poland with Art of Living’s help, thanked the founder, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar over video call and said, “The situation is not good. People are not treating us equally. We have just crossed the border; the journey was long but there were so many people helping us. I thank you guys (Art of Living) for helping us.”

The leader of the organization, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said according to a press release issued by the organization, “At this hour of crisis, I appeal to the students and their families to not give up hope. All the help is being made available and our volunteers from all across Europe are there by your side, who will provide you with food, water, and other essential items”.
