1st T20I: Will rains spoil India-Ireland match? Know about weather forecast & Bumrah’s comeback

The 29-year-old cricketer had undergone a surgery for treatment of lower-back fractures that he suffered during home series against Australia, last year.

New Delhi: Team India is set to lock horns with Ireland in the three-match T20 series, beginning Friday. Though, cricket fans are hooked to the Dublin encounter, the very first match faces washout threat due to inclement weather.

Reports suggest that rain may play spoilsport in the first T20 encounter between India and Ireland in Dublin. Local Meteorological department has issued yellow alert for the rains ahead of 1st T20 match. Local reports on weather suggest that there are about 92% chance of rains during the day and 98% during the night. And, therefore, the probability of rains spoiling the game are high.

Whether rains play spoiler or not, it is certain that all eyes would be on cricketer Jasprit Bumrah who is making a return to the international tournament after a long hiatus. Interestingly, he is also the one leading the Indian side for T20 series. He is making a comeback to the international cricket after 11 months and would be Team’s 11th captain in the T20 format.

The 29-year-old cricketer had undergone a surgery for treatment of lower-back fractures that he suffered during home series against Australia, last year. After surgery, the cricketer was advised ‘long rest’ & hence left out of a couple of tournaments.

The upcoming T20 series against Ireland will not only bring Bumrah into forefront but also add momentum to his preparation for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. His likely on-field ‘confrontation’ with Babar Azam in upcoming Asia Cup is already being talked about on social media.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also posted a note on Bumrah’s comeback and said that the cricketer was very much in control of his pace & sharpness.

“I’m coming back after a long time, I just want to enjoy. I’ve never stayed away from the game from this long. I’m not thinking ‘I’ll do this, I’ll do that,’ or ‘I have to contribute a lot.’ I have come here to enjoy it because I like cricket. Expectations, I’m not keeping too much of it,” Bumrah said ahead of the first T20I.
