New Delhi: After Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli has now turned up for the upcoming Sri Lanka which is scheduled to take place at the end of July. The decision comes just a few hours after Rohit Sharma gave the green signal for the ODI team. Earlier, it was anticipated that the experienced “Trio” of Rohit, Kohli and Bumrah would be rested. However, as it turns out right now, Virat has now made himself available for the upcoming tour.
According to a leading newspaper, the news of Kohli’s approval for the ODI series comes hours before the BCCI and the selection committee under Ajit Agarkar made the final call for the team. Indian Express reports that the initial call for the senior players turned down the requests to extend their vacation after talking with Gautam Gambhir.

Surya gets a new responsibility
The report of Indian Express also made a shocking discovery on the T20I side which has been put together for the Sri Lanka tour. According to the report, Suryakumar Yadav is touted to become the next captain of the T20I side for the upcoming series.
This comes as a huge shock as Hardik Pandya who was expected to take the captaincy duties has been brushed aside due to ‘fitness issues.’ BCCI is looking to make Surya captain for the national side till the 2026 T20 World Cup which will take place in India.

Surya is expected to lead the men in blue in that series. However, the officials have reiterated the fact very categorically that they will not tolerate any complacency on the part of the captain as well as the players. Naturally, if Suryakumar Yadav does not perform well, the latter can also be chucked out of the game. for the ODI side
