New Delhi: As the drama continues around the Champions Trophy standoff, ICC is still devising ways to sort out the standoff that has been caused between BCCI and PCB. The tournament’s dates and fixtures remain unannounced, adding to the mounting uncertainty surrounding the event.

But there have been some recent developments in the same have given confidence that a solution might be on the plate of ICC. The International board has made it clear that they would not be delaying the Champions Trophy from the set schedule. Naturally, the ICC is likely to announce the dates of the Champions trophy soon.

Meanwhile, amidst the uncertainty, the ICC has initiated the Trophy Tour for Champions Trophy 2025 to build excitement for the tournament. The tour began on Saturday in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, where the iconic silverware was displayed at several landmarks, including Daman-e-Koh, Faisal Mosque, and the Pakistan Monument.

The launch event featured cricket legend Shoaib Akhtar, who accompanied the trophy to its stops in the city.

The India vs Pakistan rivalry has become nasty in a heated exchange of words around the issue of the ICC Champions Trophy. The problem started when India decided that it wouldn’t be travelling to Pakistan for the ICC tournament, which is slated to be played in Pakistan in 2025.

According to a report by a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson, the board has confirmed to the leading media outlets of India that ICC has conveyed to them regarding India not travelling to Pakistan for the tournament, which is slated to be played from February 19-March 9 next year.

The PCB has now requested clarification from the ICC after India’s decision not to travel across the border for the Champions Trophy 2025. Interestingly, India has not toured Pakistan since 2008 due to the strained political reasons between the two nations.

The PCB has ruled out a hybrid arrangement as suggested by ICC for the 19th of February to the 9th of March.
