New Delhi: India’s back-to-back loss against Pakistan and New Zealand has made them stand in a crucial position in the points table. After the defeats, the Virat Kohli-led team was pressed to the fifth position on the score table of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
However, the Men in Blue made an incredible comeback by winning two consecutive games over Afghanistan and Scotland respectively. The team defeated Afghanistan by 66 runs and Scotland by 8 wickets. Currently, they are standing in the third position on the points table and have secured a Net Run Rate as high as +1.619.
Despite the two wins, India’s fate currently depends upon Afghanistan’s win over New Zealand which started at 3:30 PM at Sheikh Zayed Stadium today. If Afghanistan successfully defeats the Kiwis, India would have a great chance of qualifying for the semi-finals. Also, the better Net Run Rate possessed by India than Afghanistan and New Zealand would benefit them to qualify for the semis.
