Asia Cup 2023: Rohit Sharma fumes over India’s wobbly fielding, gives death stares to teammates (Video)

Indian squad displayed a series of fielding blunders in their match against Nepal, leaving Rohit Sharma agitated.

New Delhi: Team India won their match against Nepal by 10 wickets and booked their slot in Super 4 of the Asia Cup 2023.

India was given a revised target of 145 to chase down in 23 overs in the rain-curtailed match. With the help of unbeaten half-centuries by both the Indian openers, i.e. Rohit Sharma (74*) and Shubhman Gill (67*), India chased down the target comfortably with 10 wickets and 17 balls to spare.

However, the match in its entirety did not go as smoothly as their run chase. India dropped a total of 5 catches and provided Nepalese batsmen with some extra help with their inconsistent ground fielding efforts too.

After the series of dropped catches at the beginning of the match by the likes of Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Ishan Kishan, India’s sloppy fielding was up for display, leaving the fans agitated.

Even the skipper Rohit Sharma looked surprised and frustrated by his team’s efforts. In a particular incident that took place in over number 38 of the first innings, Nepalese batsman Sompal Kami hit a short ball from Hardik Pandya over the keeper, Shardul Thakur, who was fielding in the third man ran towards the ball to save the ball, but the ball went past from between his hands leaving the skipper fuming in anger.

The match was brought to a small halt in the very next over due to rain. Rohit can be seen standing at the boundary giving death stares to all of his passing teammates and especially waiting for Shardul Thakur.

The video is now making its rounds on the Internet, leaving the fans in splits. Watch the video here:

Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj were the best bowlers for India, with bowling figures of 3 for 40 and 3 for 61, respectively. Shami, Hardik and Shardul took one wicket each.
