New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are all set to face off one another for the first time in the current season of the Tata IPL.
The match is also special in terms of fresh leadership among both the teams, with Ravindra Jadeja and Shreyas Iyer leading their respective squads after the recent changes.
Ahead of the IPL 2022, former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni handed over the captaincy of CSK to star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Friday.

The first match of Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will be between Super Kings and Kolkata Riders on Saturday, March 26. The match will begin at 7:30 PM IST at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Wankhede Stadium is well known for helping the batters more, due to a uniform bound on the tracks and shorter boundaries. Both the squads would like to ball first due to the dew factor on the pitch.
Injury Update:
CSK’s Deepak Chahar will miss the match due to a quadriceps injury. Moeen Ali and Dwaine Pretorius will have to stay out of the first match too.
KKR’s Pat Cummins and Aaron Finch are also unable to play the first five matches in the tournament due to the white-ball series against Pakistan.
