Joe Root, who recently reached the 10,000 runs mark in Test cricket, was trending on Twitter for other reasons as well. He, seemingly, performed a magic trick with his bat in the first test between England and New Zealand.
Apart from the magical score of 115(170)*, Joe Root was seen vertically balancing his bat without using his hands. This balancing trick seemed like he is levitating his bat. The video of Root’s sorcery went viral on the internet and netizens took on Twitter for some interesting tweets.
A Twitter user shared the video and his reaction to Root’s sorcery.
I knew @root66 was talented but not as magic as this……. What is this sorcery? @SkyCricket #ENGvNZ ? pic.twitter.com/yXdhlb1VcF

The video was re-tweeted by many including a popular Cricket correspondent Will Macpherson. At first, he shared his surprising reaction and then explained why was the bat able to balance like that.
Ok… apparently Root now has flat-bottomed bats, not slightly curved as per usual. https://t.co/ECL87LGevd

Netizens even tried the trick and shared the pictures.
This is what they say… Bat has good balance 😉

Root became only the second English cricketer to cross the 10,000 runs mark, after Alastair Cook. He reached the mark in just 218 innings, making him the fastest English batsman to achieve this landmark. Cook had scored the 10,000th run in his 229th inning.
With the help of Root’s century, England is now leading the series 1-0, making it the first test victory for Ben Stokes as the England captain.
