“He has started to bowl…”- Ajit Agarkar reveals Mohammed Shami’s return date to the national side on…

New Delhi: Indian chief selector Ajit Agarkar dropped hints of a possible return of Mohammed Shami to the national setup before the Bangladesh Test series which is set to start on start from the 19th of September. It will be a 2-match series against the Tigers at home which will be a perfect practice ground for Shami before the big project “Down Under.”

Mohammed Shami who had become the first-choice bowler for India in the white ball has been out of the cricketing circles for a long time owing to recurrent injuries. Shami was last seen during India’s disastrous conclusion at the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. During the event, Shami took painkillers and other meds to continue playing for his side in the World Cup. Subsequently, the veteran was kept under close supervision.

In the end, it was revealed in February that Shami was undergoing surgery for Achilles Tendon. As a result, the veteran speedster missed the T20 World Cup and the IPL 2024. Now, as he recovers, it remains to be seen whether the right-hander has the same zing to his bowling before his injuries.
