New Delhi: Mumbai Police on Wednesday apprehended Ramnagesh Srinivas Akubathini for posting rape threats to baby daughter of Team India skipper Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma.
The 23-year-old man from Hyderabad is an engineer, reports said.
Following India’s loss to Pakistan, Mohammed Shami was trolled for his performance in the game and comments of hate began appeared on social media.
When Kohli defended Shami, rape threats on Kohli’s daughter surfaced online. The screenshots of alleged rape threats were shared on social media platforms, creating wide outrage.
The Delhi Commission for Women last week sent a notice to the city police and said it has taken suo moto cognizance of media reports of threat given to the family of Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli.
