According to ICC rules, each of the 16 current ICC directors must submit their nomination by August 27, thereby notifying the board of the intent to run for the election of Chairmanship. Greg Barclay who was the last ICC Chairman would also have the option to apply.

But Barclay has decided not to continue one more term for the chairmanship of the ICC. This paved the way for the next possible and potential candidate for ICC Chairmanship, Jay Shah to ascend to the role of ICC Chairmanship. If Shah manages to win the race for Chairmanship, he will be the youngest ICC Chairman at the age of only 36!

Rohan Jaitley in line for BCCI post

According to a report from the leading Hindi daily, Dainik Bhaskar has said that if Jay Shah steps down then Rohan Jaitley- the son of late Arun Jaitley is likely to take over the role of BCCI secretary. Rohan is currently the president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association.

Naturally, the DDCA President has the political clout required to become the BCCI Secretary. Sources have even confirmed that Rohan’s political portfolio and legacy, which comes as part of the Jaitley heritage, has pushed him far ahead of the people willing to fight for the post.
