IND vs NZ 1st ODI: Shubman Gill’s double ton, Siraj’s early strike pose big challenge ahead of blackcaps

New Delhi: Continuing their good form in the home season, India is facing New Zealand in the first ODI in Hyderabad. While other batters got a good start and could not convert, Shubman Gill did it in style to become the fifth Indian batter to score a double ton. The batter dealt in sixes to give the visitors a target of 350. The Indian opener hit a total of 19 fours and 9 sixes and showed that he can not only play big inning but also at a quick pace.

With Kane Williamson and Tim Southee rested for the series Tom Latham has taken the charge of the team. The blackcaps have power-hitting batters in Finn Allen, Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls, who will be crucial to chase the score.

Siraj struck early again and this time at his home ground to dismiss Devon Conway. New Zealand stands 42/1 in 10 overs and there is a long road to go.
