New Delhi: After getting battered in the first match of series by the Proteas in the first match of the series, the men in blue made a strong comeback in the second match of the series, as they got the upper hand in the match on the very first day of the test.
Notably, India after being asked to field first by the South African skipper, Dean Elgar, wreaked havoc on the South African batting unit by dismissing the whole team on just 55 in the first innings.
However, the Proteas pacers made a strong comeback in the match by dismissing the Indian innings on a mere 153, as India lost their final six wickets on zero runs, becoming the first team to ever do so in the history of test cricket.
India still held a strong grip on the match, as they dismissed the three South African batsmen, with just 62 on the board, by the end of the day’s play.
Virat’s gesture
Interestingly, one of the moments from South Africa’s second innings is going viral on the internet.
The incident occurred during over number 11 when the Indian pacer Mukesh Kumar dismissed the Proteas skipper Dean Elgar, who was playing his last innings of the career on 12.
Virat Kohli, in the slip, took the catch, but as soon as the veteran Indian player took the catch, instead of celebrating the wicket, he made a heartwarming gesture towards the South African skipper, which is now going viral on the internet.
Virat Kohli, in the now going viral video, can be seen bowing down to the South African skipper and asked his teammates and fans not to celebrate the wicket, as a sign of respect for the Proteas legend.
Other Indian players can also be seen shaking their hands with Elgar as he walks towards the pavilion.
