India lose 1st T20 against West Indies but Chahal’s heroics & ‘spoiler’ under spotlight

New Delhi: Team India started off its Twenty20 campaign in the Caribbean with first encounter with West Indies at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad on Thursday, however despite all big talk, the team again faced a humiliating defeat against the hosts.

Team India lost the match by 4 runs. While chasing a moderate score of 149 runs, once again the famed batting-line up collapsed and the visitors were seen floundering during the run chase.

However, despite loss to West Indies, Yuzvendra Chahal is drawing all the spotlight because of his heroics & also his spoiler, leading the team management red-faced.

Chahal scalped 2 wickets in 3 balls

The spinner bamboozled the West Indies with his amazing bowling, as he claimed 2 wickets in his first over. He sent 2 strong WI batsmen back to pavilion in just 3 balls of his spell, in the first T20 match.

The spinner, with his slow spinning, left Kyle Mayers confused. WI batsmen failed to comprehend the ball, which ended up hitting his pads and umpire announcing his departure without any confusion. Just two balls later, Chahal caught Brandon King in a similar trap and got him out cheaply.

When Chahal landed on field, there were loud noises in the dugout. When Chahal realized that the team management wanted Mukesh to step in rather, he went back. But, the rules prevented him from doing so.

The incident has become a big talking point on social media, with many poking fun at the Men in Blue & ‘justifying’ the T20 disaster in the first face-off.
