India vs England Test: When Virat Kohli and Ben Stokes had a heated exchange on pitch (VIDEO)

New Delhi: The fourth and final test between India and England began in Narendra Modi stadium Ahmedabad on Thursday. The match has already been in spotlight after the third test ended in just 2 days, drawing flak from many quarters.

Today, the verbal duel between Indian skipper Virat Kohli and England all-rounder Ben Stokes is garnering all the attention as the top-class cricketers almost came to fight before the Umpire intervened and resolved the issue.

Kohli-Stokes fierce war of words: How it happened

It all happened in the 13th over when Mohammed Siraj bowled a bouncer to Ben Stokes and stared at the batsman. In response, Stokes said a few words but Siraj refrained from responding. In the same over, he had taken Jot Roots wicket cheaply.

However, Kohli didn’t let Stokes get away with this as he approached him. This resulted into a heated exchange as they lost their cool. The issue got resolved after umpires Nitin Menon and Virender Sharma’s intervened and brokered peace.

Moments after the Kohli-Stokes incident, Siraj also got into a verbal exchange with the all-rounder after he edged a couple of balls that went to the boundary.

Emotions are already running high as English side were quite disappointed with two-day finish of the 3rd test. A couple of them even criticised the stadium as well as the cricket pitch.
