IPL 2024 Auction: When and where to watch the upcoming auction, check out all the details

A total to 333 players will be going under the hammer in the 2024 season auction.

New Delhi: The eyes of all the cricket fans will be glued to their TV, smartphones or laptops on Tuesday, when all the big names of cricket will be going under the auction hammer for the Indian Premier League (IPL), 2024 season in Dubai.

The last date for submitting the final retention list was November 26, and the last date to complete any trade deal between the teams was December 12, exactly one week before the official auction date.

Every team, however, was done with both retention and trading by the end of the evening of November 26 and was ready to start planning their auction strategy.

Total players available for auction

BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), after a long deliberation, finally released the list of 333 players, who will be going under the hammer for the 2024 season auction of India’s biggest cricketing carnival.

There will be a total of 77 open slots available for these 333 players, with 30 slots open for the overseas players, and 47 available for the Indian players.

Out of 333 players, 214 are Indian players, while 119 players are overseas, among which 116 are capped players, while 215 are uncapped players. Two players are from associate countries.

When and where to watch

The official auction for the IPL 2024 season, is scheduled to place in Dubai, on Tuesday, December 19.

The auction will begin at 01:00 P.M. IST, with the auction to be streamed live through the Jio Cinema app and website, while the live telecast of the auction will be made through the Star Sports network.

Purse available

All the teams have a hefty amount of sum left in their purse to pursue their player of choice in the auction.

The team that requires the most players in the auction will be Kolkata Knight Riders, who will need a total of 12 players in the auction, Rs 32.7 crore, huge, not huge, given the competition from other teams.

Delhi Capitals, who has Rs 28.95 crore in their purse, will also need to buy a total of nine players from the auction to complete their squad of 25 players.

Four teams need to buy eight players in the auction, which includes, Gujrat Titans, who have Rs 38.15 crore in their purse, and Punjab Kings, who got Rs 29.10 crore. Mumbai Indians got Rs 17.75 crore, and Rajasthan Royals got Rs 14.50 crore in their auction purse.

The most comfortable teams in the auction are going to be Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who all need only six players from the auction with Rs 31.40, 13.15, 34.0 and 23.25 crore in their purse, respectively.
