New Delhi: The Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2022 is heading towards its culmination and the final encounter for trophy will happen on May 29. The league matches of the season are almost over and teams are vying for a spot in the play-off stage.
There are only 3 matches left in the league stage while two teams have secured their place in the play-off stage. Five IPL teams have been ruled out of the final phases and 3 team are in contention to enter the final stage. Out of 3, only 2 teams will enter the next stage as 2 teams have already reached play-off stage.
Here is how IPL figure stands:
1) GT had a spectacular season and are slated to top the charts. MI, CSK, KKR, SRH and PBKS are out of the reckoning on account of poor show.
2) DC has a medium chance of making it to the final 4. The best scenario for them is to win their last game against MI. If RR wins match against CSK, DC can tie the match with RCB and could still pass through owing to good run rate. But, if they lose to MI, their exit is certain.
3) Last night’s victory has brightened the chance of RCB and put them back in the race, however, their past records may spoilsport. Their best chance to enter final 4 would be if RR & DC lose to CSK & MI respectively.
4) RR are almost set to progress to the next stage. Having maintained a good record, they are likely to end up 2nd or 3rd in the points table. If they win against CSK, they will enter playoff, even in case of loss, the possibility of their qualification is high.
5) LSG are another top-performing team who are likely to end up at 2nd spot in the points tally.
