New Delhi: Former Indian cricket skipper MS Dhoni has become the latest celebrity to lose blue tick on Twitter account.
Blue tick is accorded to accounts of individuals/organisations to justify their Twitter handle.
Citing reason for the move, the microblogging site reportedly said that Dhoni’s Twitter handle was inactive for months and hence it has been deactivated.
Dhoni’s last tweet was in Jan 2021
The former Indian skipper posted his last tweet on January 8, 2021.
Twitter is yet to officially give any reason for this but some officials in the knowhow of it said that it was apparently due to its idle status for long time.

The blue badge on the Twitter handle is an indicator of account being authentic and verified.
As per norms, for getting blue badge, any individual’s account must be authentic & active.

Dhoni remains the most popular youth icon and his hairstyle are imitated by many youths. Recently, his haircut took the internet by storm. He has been very active on Instagram.
Recently, an old tweet of MS Dhoni went viral after Indian Men’s hockey team clinched bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
In October 2014, Dhoni posted a tweet where he lauded Indian Men’s hockey team’s gold medal victory at the Asian Games.
