National level shooter Namanveer Brar , who won a bronze medal at the 2015 World University Games in South Korea, allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Chandigarh on Monday morning.
The 28-year-old double-trap shooter finished fourth in this year’s Delhi Shooting World Cup.
According to the DSP, it could not be conclusively said whether he died of suicide or due to accidental fire.
“We cannot conclusively say at this stage whether it is suicide or if it was accidental fire. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and the report is awaited. Once the report comes, it will help us arrive at some conclusion,” Sandhu said.
The police were informed about the incident by the family of the shooter.
