T20 World Cup 2021 points table: Highest run scorer, highest wicket taker and more

After Friday’s win, Pakistan leads the points table of T20 World Cup 2021, making a possible chance of entering into the semi-final.

New Delhi: The last match of the T20 World Cup 2021 so far saw Pakistan defeating Afghanistan by 5 wickets on October 29. This game marked three consecutive wins for Pakistan and are slowly making their way close to the semi-finals. What caught the attention of the cricket fans were the four sixes smashed by Pakistan’s Asif Ali in one over to lead the team to victory.

On batting first, Afghanistan was restricted 147-6 in 20 overs which were easily chased by Pakistan in the 19th over itself.

Points table

After Friday’s match, Pakistan is leading the points table where they have a high chance of getting into the semi-final as they managed to win three games so far. On the other hand, India stands in the fifth position by losing the one game played against Pakistan, while Scotland sits in the sixth position by losing both the games.

Top Run Scorer:

Bangladesh’s skipper Mahmudullah has been leading the points table in terms of maximum runs scored. He secured 150 runs in six games. He is followed by Mohammed Naim with 148 runs and Mushfiqur Rahim with 143 runs. Bangladesh’s all-rounder Shakib al Hasan stands in the fourth position closely followed by Bhanuka Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka.

Batting stat

In the highest score innings, Charith Asalanka from Sri Lanka holds the top position with unbeatable 80 runs. He is followed by Mohammad Rizwan from Pakistan with 79* runs. Oman’s Jatinder Singh stands in the third position with 73* runs in the list.

Sri Lanka’s Bhanuka Rajapaksa has the best batting average of 64.50 followed by Pakistan’s Babar Azam with 64.00.

Highest Wicket Taker:

Bangladesh’s Shakib leads the list of most wicket-takers with 11 wickets in five games. He took two more wickets against Sri Lanka to become the highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history. He is followed by Josh Davey from Scotland with nine wickets in his hands. Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman stands in the third position with 8 wickets in hands so far.

Bowling stat

The best bowlers figures (innings) chart is being topped by Mujeeb Ur Rahman taking 5/20, followed by England’s Adil Rashid with 4/2 while the third position is held by Bangladesh’s Shakib with 4/9.

Paul Stirling from Ireland tops the list of Best bowling economy with 2.50. He is seconded by England Chris Woakes with 4.00 and Adam Zampa of Australia holds the economy of 4.12, standing in the third position.
