In the recent development, Wayne Rooney has apologised to his family and Derby over the issue.
“I made a mistake,” says Rooney to Sky Sports after the Championship club’s friendly against Real Betis on Wednesday. “I went to a private party with two of my friends and from me, I’d like to apologise to my family and the club for the images which were going round and I want to move forward on this.
“I’m grateful to Derby County for giving me this opportunity to get this club back to where it belongs, and I’ll do everything in my power to make sure I do that,” he added
Cheshire police have confirmed that they had dropped a complaint of blackmail made concerning the images.

On the other hand, three girls involved in taking pictures of Wayne Rooney have reportedly apologised to the Derby boss and have also sold him the copyright of the images for just £1.

As per The Sun, Rooney was celebrating at the Chinawhite club in Manchester and Snapchat models were invited to Rooney’s room where they were to see him there. A ‘friend’ of Rooney’s was quoted by The Sun where he said, “The girls all love to party but I think this was probably the wildest night of their lives. There was no sexual contact — it was just a great night”
