Leaders of various Opposition parties met at NCP chief Sharad Pawar's residence in Delhi yesterday and discussed their joint strategy to take on the ruling BJP on various issues, including what they say is a misuse of CBI by the Centre.

“What is happening? A police commissioner is sitting on a dharna with politicians? What does it mean? By sitting on a dharna, West Bengal chief minister is following the footsteps of Arvind Kejriwal,” Union law minister said.

The Supreme Court has decided to hear the CBI's plea alleging contempt against Kolkata Police officers on Tuesday. The agency moved top court today, alleging destruction of evidence related to Saradha chit fund scam case.

After CBI-Kolkata police showdown that led to arrest of five CBI officials by police, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday slammed the Narendra Modi government for destroying the federal structure of India.

The police detained CBI officials outside the residence of Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar after a scuffle broke out between a team of CBI and police officers on Sunday.

"Talibani forces are active in Bengal under Mamata Banerjee. Today's incident has proved it," Patra said condemning the incident as undemocratic.
