The National Testing Agency (NTA) has already announced that the JEE will be held from September 1 to 6 and NEET on September 13.

"JEE exam centres have been increased to 660 from 570 while there are now 3,842 NEET centres, up from 2,546 for the convenience of students. And 99 per cent of the students have been allotted exam centres of their choice," he said.

He said that educational institutes were ready to admit a new batch of students and move on with their academic programmes.

In order to meet social distancing requirements due to Covid-19 pandemic, the number of Examination Centers have been increased from 570 to 660 in case of JEE-Mains and from 2,546 to 3,843 for NEET-UG 2020.

His response comes amid the demands from students and parents to postpone the entrance exams in view of the surge in COVID-19 cases.

The NTA informed that it has made elaborate arrangements to comply with the guidelines of Ministry of Education for conducting examinations including the NEET AND JEE.

The JEE Main examination will be held between September 1 to 6 while JEE advanced exam will take place on September 27. NEET examination will be held on September 13.

The judicature had last week asked the CBSE to consider cancelling the exams in response to a petition from a group of parents. The exams are scheduled from July 1 to 15.
