BGIS 2024 Winner: Team XSPARK Takes Home ₹60 Lakhs

Team XSPARK wins BGIS 2024, claiming ₹60 lakhs in India’s largest battle royale esports tournament. The event featured a ₹2 crore prize pool.

New Delhi: The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2024 concluded with an electrifying finale at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, crowning Team XSPARK as the champions. The event, which featured a total prize pool of ₹2 crores, saw Team XSPARK claim the grand prize of ₹60 lakhs after an intense three-day competition attended by over 5,000 spectators.

Team XSPARK, founded by renowned BGMI player Tanmay Singh, aka ScoutOP, in 2019, includes players Shubham “NinjaJOD” Sahoo, Sarangjyoti “Sarang” Deka, Tenzin “Shadow7” Kelsang, and Harsh “SPRAYGOD” Malik. They topped the points table with 142 points, followed by Global Esports with 134 points and Reckoning Esports with 132 points.

This was also the first BGIS LAN finale to be hosted in Hyderabad, making it a historic occasion for Indian esports. Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra, an Olympic gold medallist, was one of the honored guests. The organizer, Krafton, showed their dedication to developing esports talent and assisting the larger sporting community by donating ₹25 lakhs to the Abhinav Bindra Foundation. Bindra conveyed his respect for the players, pointing out that both esports and traditional sports need comparable amounts of physical and mental preparation.

The grand finale’s live viewership reached over 4.3 million across various streaming platforms, reflecting the immense interest and support for BGMI and its competitive scene.

The Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series (BMPS) 2024 was also announced during the event, laying out the roadmap for Krafton India’s future esports initiatives. This announcement, coupled with the successful conclusion of BGIS 2024, signals a bright future for the esports industry in India.
