#BoycottMyntra & #UninstallMyntra Trends on Twitter, here is why
New Delhi: E-commerce giant Myntra came under fire on Monday morning as the hashtags #BoycottMyntra & #UninstallMyntra started trending among the top trends on the microblogging site Twitter for its old Hindu-Phobic graphic image. The advertisement, dating back to 2016, created uproar then and is now back to haunt the e-portal. The online shopping portal has denied sharing any ‘anti-Hindu’ content but the netizens offended by the advertisement have been unsparing.
The advertisement featuring Myntra logo is an illustration based on a scene from the epic Mahabharata. The illustration shows Lord Krishna shopping online for an “extra long” saree on the Myntra app during “Draupadi cheerharan”. The e-commerce portal also faced a backlash in 2016 for the illustration, seen as an affront to Hindu gods. The e-commerce portal had then categorically denied any association with the advertisement.
Today, the same illustration started trending on Twitter, with hordes of netizens sharing their anger against the e-commerce giant for insulting Hindu gods. Many called out the shopping portal for its utterly disrespectful and derogatory portrayal of Hindu gods while others urged others to uninstall the App from their phones.

This is not an ad, it is a direct insult to Hinduism & Hindu’s everywhere. It’s time to send a message loud & clear: Anti-Hindu propaganda will no longer be met with passivity. It will be met with action. #BoycottMyntra pic.twitter.com/EThpeT0xrL
