New Delhi: Rummy Circle, a popular gaming app has developed strong customer base and considerably large network of subscribers over the past few years, on back of its ‘money-spinning’ games. The gaming app projects itself as a reliable & bankable platform for general public but lately the gaming app has been in the firing line of customers.

The reason behind is that Rummy Circle’s marketing gimmicks have become clear to the people and the public in general are getting to know that their money was taken for a ride by the gaming app. A lot many people are commenting on the dubious practices of the group and also some calling for a ban on its operations. Now, the bigger question is that will the Rummy Circle face action for beguiling the public in hope of good money. And, what about those big Bollywood celebrities who endorse the gaming app while charging a whooping fee. Will they also pay the price for promoting the gaming app with suspicious credentials? Rummy Circle

With government releasing guidelines for controlling the burgeoning of online gaming market, a lot many believe that Rummy Circle will sooner or later face the axe.

The government, while making its intentions clear, also notified the norms to regulate the online gaming sector.

Under the new norms, those gaming apps involving betting or wagering will be prohibited from operations. While giving some room for self-regulation, the government has also notified 3 self-regulatory organizations that will approve the games, as per existing laws & regulations of the country.

Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said that the online games will be regulated by SROs which include industry, gamers & other stakeholders and not the government.

He said that all such gaming apps will be barred which involve wagering, objectionable content for users and those with addictive consequences for children.

Reports suggest that govt is also contemplating a law on regulating the gaming app market.

This comes in light of religious conversation racket going in name of gaming apps. The recent incident of conversion happening under garb of gaming in Ghaziabad sent alarm bells ringing for the investigative agencies. As per initial findings, some Muslim clerics mindwashed a Hindu youth and converted him to Islam. The clerics targeted the vulnerable 17-year-old youth via a gaming app.

The gaming apps have also been found to giving a fillip to satta markets, where people tend to risk their money by placing their bets/wagers on array of games ranging from cricket to tennis & more.

As government tightens the norms & controls the market, Rummy circle like other gaming apps is likely to face the heat and may see its shutters down soon.
