Uber drivers cancel trips after knowing the rider’s destination; Here’s why

A few days ago, the company rolled out another important notice which displays the mode of payment.

New Delhi: Uber has become our go-to travel option which has time and again proved its efficiency. However, hardly any passengers haven’t experienced anger when Uber drivers cancel the trip after asking about their destination. If you hate going through such a scenario every day, then Uber has come to your rescue with the new update. Uber announced that drivers will be able to see the destination chosen by the riders as soon as the trip will be booked.

People have often complained to the ride-hailing giant which had made them take up the decision. In a statement issued by Uber, they stated, “To enhance transparency and remove frustration for riders and drivers, drivers on the Uber platform across India will now be able to see the trip destination before they decide to accept the ride. Encouraged by the reduction in the number of trip cancellations after the pilot launch in May 2022, Uber has decided to do away with the trip acceptance threshold and rolled out the unconditional feature to all cities. Uber will continue monitoring feedback from drivers and riders and make changes if required.”

The company has also started compensating the drivers when travelling a long distance to pick up their riders. Besides, the payment frequency has also changed to all weekdays for drivers opting for online payment transfers.

A few days ago, the company rolled out another important notice which displays the mode of payment. So as soon as the driver accepts the ride, they will get to know whether they will be paid in cash or online.

Receiving feedback from Moto drivers about the lack of awareness about waiting charges, Uber will send out push notifications to riders about waiting charges when they will book the cab for a trip. Besides, drivers at the airport often face an operational challenge as they had to pay for airport charges upfront and later get reimbursed. However, Uber has now introduced cashless operations at airports in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bangalore.
