New Delhi: On the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival on May 20, 2022, a topless lady protestor stood up to speak out against sexual abuse against women in Ukraine. According to accounts from the Hollywood Reporter, the woman stripped down to her underwear and screamed in front of the collected photographers. As soon as the security guards noticed her, they raced over to her and wrapped her in a coat. She had painted her body in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, with the words ‘Stop Raping Us’ inscribed across her chest and abdomen. The woman appeared to have blood-red paint all over her lower back and legs, as well as the word ‘SCUM’ painted on her back.
