New Delhi: Just a few months before his death, the actor’s 16-year-old son, Jahaan, died of a brain tumour. Shiv Kumar Subramaniam, a seasoned character actor and screenwriter of the award-winning film ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi,’ passed away last night, leaving Bollywood with a terrible piece of news. His death has yet to be determined. Subramaniam has been in a number of total films during the period of his 30-year career. In 1989, he started his Bollywood career as a writer for the gritty and beautiful film ‘Parinda,’ starring Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, and the rest is, as they say, tinsel-town history. The actor’s performance left a lasting effect in the hearts of the audience. In ‘2 States,’ he portrayed the tough father of Alia Bhatt’s Ananya. His most recent appearance was in the Netflix film ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar,’ wherein he represented Meenakshi’s father, played by Sanya Malhotra.
