New Delhi: Ayushi, a history teacher at a Delhi government school, was ranked 48th in the Civil Services exam 2021, which was released by the Union Public Services Commission . The 29-year-old, who has been blind since birth, has not let her impairment hold her back. The Rani Khera resident passed the renowned exam in her fifth attempt, while working as a teacher and preparing for the exam at the same time. Ayushi expressed her delight, saying that while she was certain of passing the exam, receiving a score below 50 was a nice surprise. “My wish has been granted. Knowing that my name is in the top 50 is a strange sensation. Everyone is delighted for me. “I consider myself fortunate,” Ayushi stated. She went to a private school in her hamlet of Rani Khera for her education and graduated from Delhi University’s Shyama Prasad Mukherji College. She later went on to IGNOU for a Master’s degree in history. “I was born into a normal family. My ambition as a child was to simply get a job. “In 2016, I began studying for the exam with the help of my mum,” Ayushi explained.
