Afghanistan Crisis: TOLOnews reporter beaten by the Taliban in Kabul; Cameras, technical equipment hijacked

Afghanistan plunged into crisis after the Taliban entered the presidential palace in the Afghan capital on August 15 and declared its victory over the government after months of violence across the country

New Delhi: Tolo News reporter was beaten by the Taliban in Kabul, not killed. Cameras, technical equipment and my personal mobile phone have also been hijacked.

Ziar Khan Yaad said that Taliban got out of an armored Land Cruiser and attacked him on gunpoint. He also said that new about his death is false.

Earlier, Tolonews reported that the reporter was killed by Taliban.

Earlier,  Reuters journalist Danish Siddiqui, was killed while covering the violence in Afghanistan.

38-year-old Siddiqui, who was the Chief Photographer for Reuters in India, was killed in Kandahar province’s Spin Boldak district. A new report published by The Washington Examiner claims that Danish was “not simply killed in the crossfire” but was rather “murdered” by the Taliban.

India, on August 17, had also announced that it would issue an emergency e-visa to Afghan nationals who want to come to the country in view of the prevailing situation in Afghanistan after the Taliban captured power there.
