Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the first African to head the World Health Organization, has been in the eye of storm over the massive spread of Coronavirus across the world. Today, he faces the towering challenge of coordinating a global pandemic response increasingly complicated by US-China tensions.

“I will initiate an independent evaluation at the earliest appropriate moment to review experience gained and lessons learned, and to make recommendations to improve national and global pandemic preparedness and response,” WHO chief Dr Tedros said.

It may be noted that more than 60 nations have demanded probe into WHO’s response to Coronavirus.

Till now, more than 4.7 million coronavirus cases have been confirmed around the world, including more than 315,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
