
New Delhi: Several people are reported injured in a bomb explosion in Turkey’s Istanbul on Sunday. According to Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, the explosion occurred at about 4:20 PM in the capital. However, the cause of the bomb blast is yet not clear.

In the viral video on the internet, people can be seen walking on the busy road when the bomb goes off. As soon as people listen the sound, everyone started running to take shelter at any safe place.
After the bomb blast, the Turkish authorities cordoned off the area. The shops of the area were also shuttered and the avenue closed down.

As per the reports of CNN Turk, 11 people have received injuries. It is suspected this was a suicide bomb blast.
Reacting to the incident on Twitter, the Mayor of Istambul tweeted, ”I received information from our Fire Brigade teams on Istiklal Street. They have launched investigations in coordination with the police. Our healthcare workers are also working hard. Once again, I wish God’s mercy on those who lost their lives and a speedy recovery to the injured,”
