New Delhi: Considerably, the most expensive home sale in San Francisco this year was that of the residence of the co-founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. The residence was reportedly sold at $31 million. The house was purchased by Zuckerberg in November 2012 for around $10 million. The house was more than 7,000 square feet and was located close to the Mission District and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, situated in the quiet Liberty Hill neighbourhood off Dolores Park. The ad states that the house was constructed in 1928 and lies on a quarter-acre lot.

After Facebook went public, the CEO OF Meta Platforms purchased the house. Conducting a multi-million dollar restoration project in 2013, Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan included modifications like a laundry room, wine room, wet bar, and greenhouse along with others.

Reports state that Zuckerberg also owns several other residences Silicon Valley, Lake Tahoe, and Hawaii.

According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zuckerberg’s net amount stands at $61.9 billion. Besides, he has a lot over 50% of his wealth in 2022. He has also lost $63.5 billion, with his wealth going down 50.6% year-to-date on July 26, 2022. However, with whatever wealth he possesses, Zuckerberg sits in 17th position among the richest people on earth.

It is believed that with his entire wealth he can buy 36.0 million troy ounces of gold or 590 million barrels of crude oil. Besides, his net worth is equal to 917,474 times the median household income in the United States.

With an effort to model its app after TikTok, a competition for short-form video viewers, Meta Platforms stated that it was redesigning the primary feed on its Facebook app to prioritise “discover” new material of updates from account users follow.

Besides, in recent months, Meta officials have put importance on the urgency of promoting the company’s “Reels” offering, which is similar to TikTok’s short videos which have considerably drawn the attention of younger generations. As per the statement from Meta, Facebook’s “Home,” or default news feed tab, will start focussing on popular postings from accounts that users do not follow, such as Reels or Stories.
