New Delhi: Over 7,500 people descended on Marvel Stadium in a highly anticipated cultural evening to deliver a show with entertainment & a message.

A first-of-its-kind, family-centric stage show was produced and executed by over 300 volunteers who entertained the audience with energetic dances, traditional Indian music and short stories on stage, highlighting the significance of family harmony in the current times.

The occasion was supported by a massive voluntary effort by one of the largest socio-spiritual organisations (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha), BAPS, meticulously planned and delivered by 700 volunteers who, over the last six months, designed and carefully brought forward great insights and learnings of the importance of bettering the lives of individuals by connecting and unifying family members.

BAPS spokesperson Parth Pandya said BAPS is honoured to receive attendees from diverse groups across Melbourne metropolitan and regional victoria today. The program delivered the message of family unity & harmony by encouraging parents to spend more time with kids and regular catchups among family members to better understand each other’s perspectives.

Hon. Tim Pallas, Treasurer of Victoria, representing the premier, spoke highly of the Indian community. “There is no greater exhibit of the union and the strength of community than the people here listening today”.

“Victoria’s Hindu community forms such an important part. Your history, your culture, and your sacrifice has helped shape the modern Victoria that we know today”.

Hon. Matthew Guy, The opposition leader, quoted, “Pramukh Swami Maharaj was a global torch bearer for love, peace & harmony. He was a pious soul who lived to serve others, and the lived the philosophy: In the joy of others, lies our own”.

“Victoria’s Indian community has made outstanding contributions across many fields; business, public services, education, science and engineering, medicine and the arts”.

The celebrations marked the 100th birth centenary celebrations of His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the fifth successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. His life and work depicted the principles of servitude and family unity.

He is the creator and inspirer of more than 50 community and spiritual centres across Australia, which speaks volumes about his life, legacy and work. His significant contributions to the greater Australian community have brought diverse communities together.

The event concluded with traditional dances and performances, which took over 1,500 volunteers hours to perfect and shared with the large crowd. Some of the highlighted events were followed by aarti and fireworks
